The grandeur displayed in the drawing, and the elegant taste in which the whole is designed, shew the evident improvement of this great painter after he had abandoned the dry manner of his master Perugino, and chastened his style by the study of the best models of antiquity. There is an engraving from this exquisite cabinet picture by M.
