The case is of beautiful tortoiseshell and mother of pearl. The dome is supported by columns of green jasper, with enriched capitals of silver gilt; the globes, are of silver; so likewise is the armillary sphere, which is supported by a figure of time; the other figures are also of silver, and the whole is executed in a most superb taste; and embellished with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, lapis lazuli, and other oriental gems; part is inlaid with gold, and several of the embellishments are gilt with D'or mouillé. N.B. This Clock came out of the Cabinet of Charles VIIth.
