Vente de l'œuvre décrite comme [[AEneas conducted by Venus to the Attainment of his Armour, with Cupids, a River God, and Nymphs bathing, comprising eight Figures in a beautiful Landscape, on canvass. Size six feet long by three feet nine inches high, within the frame. By Nicolo Poussin. -- Born at Normandy, in 1594, died in 1665 2000l. There is a print engraved from this fine picture, most parts of it are as finely painted as a miniature, and when the great antiquity of it is considered, it is a very extraordinary performance, and in fine preservation. It formerly belonged to Mr. Strutt, Author of Honda Angel Cynnan, Chronicle of England, Sports and Pastimes of the People of England, and other works of eminence (Albert Durer)|Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden, with the Tree in the centre, and Serpent thereon, tempting them to eat the Apple, with Birds, &c. in a fine Landscape, on pannel.
