  • 1836.06.07/ maison de ventes : Foster (Edward). Vente de l'œuvre décrite comme [[The Holy Family, called "La Madonna dei Fiori." This exquisite gem of art is certainly the finest work of the master, and in the most perfect condition, it is signed by Raphael Urbinas, pingebat MDXVIII., and was in the collection of the Governor of Rome, whence it passed into the hands of Mr. Armenoux, "ancien inspecteur de la tresorerie a` l'armee d'Italie," and at his demise became the property of the late owner. It is in an elegant frame, with a plate glass door, and enclosed in a handsome mahogany case, mounted on standards, feet and castors.
